Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Dimmer Switches are subject to this recall:

  • Trailing Edge LED Dimmer Switches with a wattage of 5 to 200 watts, length of 56 mm and width of 23 mm. The affected Dimmers can be differentiated from other Dimmers with the same model number by the internal metal shaft. The model number of the recalled Dinner Switch is AT9300/A.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Dimmer’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this product has been manufactured with an internal metal shaft instead of a plastic shaft. The internal clearances have not, however, been increased as required by the product standard AS/NZS 61347.2.11:2003. Should the external plastic knob be removed, and the Dimmer Switch has been internally damaged or improperly installed, there may be a risk of electric shock.

Consumers who believe this product has been installed in their home should contact Atom Lighting on (07) 5537 1022 and ask for Marta who will arrange for an electrician to replace the Dimmer. In no circumstance should you as a consumer attempt to uninstall or disconnect the Dimmer Switch yourself. Unless the plastic outer knob has been damaged or removed, there is no immediate danger of electric shock.

Electricians who have installed this product should call (07) 5537 1022 and ask for Marta, who will make arrangements with you to return any remaining stock for a full credit, and for installed Dimmers to be replaced. All recalled Dimmers must be returned to Atom Lighting’s head office, and not to the place of purchase.

Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (“PPE”) when working with electrical fixtures, including gloves and protective eye ware. Ensure all circuits are turned off at the panel before working with any electrical appliance or lighting fixture.
