The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Audio Speakers are subject to this recall:

  • Beats Pill XL, an audio speaker system with has a stylized “b” Beats logo on the front and available in five colours: black, white, metallic sky, pink and titanium. The Beats Pill XL Speaker was supplied in Australia starting in January 2014 by Beats by Dr. Dre, Apple, and other retailers.

According to the ACCC, Apple has determined that, in rare cases, the battery in the Beats Pill XL Portable Speaker may overheat. If this defect occurs, it poses a fire safety risk which may result in minor injury or property damage.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Audio Speakers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
