The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following Crunchy Peanut Butter is subject to this recall:

  • Suma Unsalted Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter, sold in 700 gram jars, with batch codes ranging from 10.04.16 L1100 to L1530 and a best-before end date of 10 April 2016

According to the CTSI, Suma has extended the recall of its unsalted Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter to include batch codes L1100 to L1530 because the food may contain a foreign body, which could be a choking hazard.

If plastic, glass or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Peanut Butter, please do not consume it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: Suma has issue a previous recall for a small bath of Peanut Butter for the same reason. To see this other notification, please search for “Suma” using the Search Box at the top of this page.
