Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Paint Products are subject to this recall:

  • MetalPro-Urethane Catalyst used in conjunction with the company’s MetalPro Paint series. The Urethane Catalyst was sold in a 946 mL (product page number 6003C) and 360 mL (product number 6001C) sizes. Approximately 3,776 containers of the 360 mL size and 816 containers of the 946 mL size were sold at NAPA Auto Parts stores across Canada.

According to Health Canada, its auditing process has revealed the recalled product does not meet labelling requirements for consumer chemical products under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

The consumer product does not have proper hazard labelling required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. The improper labelling could result in unintentional exposure to these products and lead to serious illness, injury or death.

Neither Health Canada nor NAPA Auto Parts has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Metal Pro-Urethane Catalyst, please do not use it. Instead, kindly dispose of the recalled product in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements taking care to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (“PPE”) such as a mask and gloves.
