The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Bean Bags are subject to this recall:

  • Child-sized Bean Bags, June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015

According to the ACCC, the inner zip on the recalled Bean Bags does not have a child-resistant slide fastener. In contravention of the mandatory safety standard for bean bags, the recalled Bean Bag from Avalan Industries is not fitted with a child-resistant slide fastener and may therefore, allow access to the internal polystyrene beans. This poses a potential choking hazard for young children.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Bean Bags, please do not let your children play with them or have them in their area. Instead, kindly remove the paperclip from the Bean Bag’s zipper to prevent children accessing the polystyrene beads. If you feel your children are still are danger, please return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
