Additional information:
The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following Mount Hood Porter Beer in glass bottles is subject to this recall:

  • Mount Hood Beer, sold in 500 ml glass bottles from 27/03/2015 to 17/04/2015

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Porter’s design and retail presentation.

According to the CTSI, there is a manufacturing problem with some of the above Porter Beer sold between 27/03/2015 and 17/04/2015 that could result in bottle shattering. No other lot code or product is affected.

Due to this, all remaining bottles of Mount Hood Porter are recalled from wholesalers and retailers.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any recalled Mount Hood Porter, please do not consume it. Instead, the company asks consumers to safely and immediately dispose of any Mount Hood Porter already purchased.

To accomplish this safe disposal, do not attempt to transport or return the bottles to your retailer. Instead, dispose of the product locally, following local laws and regulations for the disposal of sharp glass products in municipal waste.

To ensure your personal safety at all times, please wear protective eye wear and thick gloves, and dispose of the Beer by carefully packing any remaining unopened bottles in a securely closed box constructed of thick cardboard or metal and immediately placing the box in a bin liner inside a closable rubbish bin. Once safely sealed, you can carefully affix a sign on the box: “DANGER: GLASS”. Only once the bottles are safely in the bin, should you remove your protective clothing and eye ware.

In order to claim a full refund for the Porter Beer, please contact the retailer from whom you bought it. If you have any questions, please contact the company at or by calling 01179 412 501. No proof of purchase is necessary.
