The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Coconut Chews are subject to this recall:

  • Sunridge Candy-Coconut Chews, Vanilla flavored, sold in ten (10) pound bags of 156 boxes with lot numbers 1081545 and 1101545, an item code of 023617 and a UPC of 086700936177

According to the FDA, the recalled Vanilla Candy-Coconut Chews may contain very small stainless steel wire, the kind and type used in the screening process during manufacturing.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Candy-Coconut Chews, please do not consume them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
