The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Wine is subject to recall:

  • The Society’s Prosecco, sold in 75 cl (750 ml) bottles with the following lot numbers: L15S051, L15S092, L145322 (the lot number can be found printed on the bottle neck just below the gold rim of the foil capsule).

According to the FSA, The Wine Society is recalling The Society’s Prosecco wine because the bottles might shatter. This would pose both laceration and ingestion hazards to those nearby,

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Prosecco Wine, please do not consume it. Instead, this product was been sold via mail order only. The Wine Society, therefore, has records of all customers who bought the product and has contacted them by letter and e-mail to notify them of the Wine’s recalled.
