The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Computer Power Cords are subject to this recall:

  • Linetek Power Cords, model number: LS-15. Please note: the female connector has an imprint marked “LS-15 Linetek”, although this may not be visible in all cases due to wear and other factors.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Power Cord’s design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the recalled Power Cord may overheat during use. If this does occur, it may pose a fire or burn hazard to those nearby and to property.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession a recalled Power Cord, please do not use it. Instead, please follow this three-part protocol:

  1. If you have purchased Acer notebooks from September 2010 to March 2015, please check the following Web site to determine if your particular Power Cord is affected:!Type=LS-15&Brand=ACR&CID=AU&LID=ENG
  2. If you determine your Power Cord may be affected by this recall, please stop using it immediately and request a free replacement Power Cord using the links found on the Web site.
  3. Acer will send the replacement Power Cord by mail. You should dispose of the faulty Linetek brand LS-15 Power Cord in accordance with local waste handling regulations.
