UK FSA RecallUK/Basildon: Thurstons Fine Foods recalls certain Thurstons Apricot Jams due to undeclared sulphur dioxide, a precursor to sulphites/sulfites, a known allergen and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. TSI:

The UK Trading Standards Institute (“TSI”) reports the following Apricot Jam is subject to this recall:

  • Thurstons Apricot Jam, product size: sold in 380 gram jars with lot numbers and best-before end dates as follows:
    • lot number: 1912; best-before end date: 31 December 2016
    • lot number: 501; best-before end date: 5 January 2017
    • lot number: 2703; best-before end date: 27 March 2017
    • lot number: 0404; best-before end date: 4 April 2017

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Apricot Jam lots and could be allergic to their sulphur dioxide ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
