Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Fire Extinguishers are subject to this recall:

  • Safe-T Designer Fire Extinguishers, available in the following designs: classic, textile, pop, tag and exclusive. No barcode or UPC is given.

According to the ACCC, due to the absence of safety labeling and the Fire Extinguishers not being coloured red as required by the mandatory standard, AS/NZS 1841.1:1997, the Fire Extinguishers fail to meet the requirements of Consumer Product Safety Standard No. 9 of 2004. As a result, consumers may not be able to easily locate the recalled Fire Extinguishers in an emergency.

In addition, as the Fire Extinguishers are not marked with the required safety label, consumers may not be able to determine whether they are appropriate for the specific type of fire occurring (i.e., wood-based, oil-based, electrical-based or other). Incorrect use of any Fire Extinguishers may increase the risk of serious burns or death.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Fire Extinguishers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or outlet where you purchased them for a full refund.
