Shan brand Fruit Chaat Seasoning Recall [UK]


UK FSA RecallUK/Basildon: TRS recalls certain Shan brand Fruit Chaat Seasoning due to undeclared soya and sulphur dioxide, a precursor to sulphites. The UK Trading Standards Institute (“TSI”) reports the following Seasoning is subject to this recall:

  • Shan brand Fruit Chaat Seasoning, 60 gram package, with a best-before end date of 22 January 2016 and a batch code of No FCH 0011302813 MH03

According to the TSI, the company is recalling Shan Fruit Chaat Seasoning because it contains sulphur dioxide and soya, neither of which are mentioned on the food product packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide, or an allergy to soya.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Shan brand Fruit Chaat Seasoning and could be allergic to its soya and sulphur dioxide ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
