The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Butane Cookers are subject to this recall:

  • Gasmate PC2075, PC2080, BuyRight MPC2070 with a date of manufacture (DOM) of 48/13. The Cookers were available for sale from the 1 April 2014 to 1 March 2015

According to the ACCC, the overpressure safety device may not shut off gas to the burner if the butane cartridge canister is overheated. In addition, the risk of overheating increases if the product is not used according the manufacturer’s specifications. If either of these events occur, there is risk of explosion and fire.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Portable Butane Cookers, please do not consume them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
