The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Wasp Control Aerosol is subject to this recall:

  • Blitzem! Wasp Killer & Nest Destroyer, an aerosol spray wasp killer and nest treatment product. The product is a domestic-use wasp control product; affected units are marked with the identifying batch code of 448A DOM261114

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, in rare cases, rust and corrosion may affect the bottom of the can, potentially causing the can to suddenly and violently burst. If the defect occurs, a consumer may be injured by the rapid and violent expulsion of the contents of the can, or by the physical movement of the failed can.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Wasp Control Aerosol, please do not use them. Instead, carefully discharge the can’s contents using the instructions printed on the Web site above, take a picture of the batch number then dispose of the product.
