The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Black Bean-based Foods are subject to this recall:

  • Kirby Black Beans Creole Seasoning, 29 ounce package; distribution: FL; best-by date code: 4 JUL 2018; UPC: 0 7738512346
  • Goya Black Bean Soup, 29 ounce package; distribution: CA, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, LA, MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, VT; best-by date codes: JUL 2018 or AUG 2018; UPC: 0 4133102081 7

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after the Company was notified by one of its ingredient suppliers that one lot of Ground Cumin had potentially been produced with undeclared peanut protein.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Black Bean-based Foods and could be allergic to their peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
