US/Silver Spring: Arcadia Trading Red Thread Fish Recall [US]Arcadia Trading recalls some Red Thread Fish due to failure to eviscerate and possible Clostridium Botulinum contamination, a serious health hazards. FDA:

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fish are subject to this recall:

  • Red Thread Fish, sold in 7-ounce heat-sealed plastic bags.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional designs and/or variations of the recalled foods are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, the potential for contamination was noted by New York State Department of Agriculture inspectors during a routine inspection and subsequent analysis of product by Food Laboratory personnel confirmed that the fish was not properly eviscerated prior to processing.
