The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Steak Products are subject to this recall:

  • 2-pound selling unit boxes containing vacuum-packages of “Market Day Teriyaki Flavored ChicNSteakes” in boxes labeled as “Market Day Lemon Pepper ChicNSteakes”

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional brands and/or designs of the recalled foods are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the food products subject to recall bear the establishment number “P-1358” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The inner package and the selling unit boxes will have a Julian Date of “3464” and the outer box will have a pack date of “12/13/14”. The items produced were shipped to distribution locations in Illinois for further distribution.

The problem was discovered after the firm received consumer complaints indicating that the Lemon Pepper flavored ChicNSteakes boxes actually contain Chicken Teriyaki flavored ChicNSteakes. Teriyaki ChicNSteakes contain soy and wheat allergens, which are not in the Lemon Pepper flavored ChicNSteakes.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chicken Steak Products and could be allergic to their ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
