US/Silver Spring: B&M Blue Cheese Jalapeño Seasoning Mix Recall [US]B&M recalls some Blue Cheese Jalapeño Seasoning Mixes due to undeclared peanut protein, a known allergen and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal, situation requiring immediate medical intervention. FDA: http://ht.ly/HHkK5

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Seasoning Mixes are subject to this recall:

  • Harris Teeter and HT Traders Blue Cheese Jalapeño Seasoning, packaged in 6-ounce clear square glass bottles with a black metal cap and a label weight of 3.7 ounces (104.9 grams); lot number 3301401R, a best-by date of 28 MAY 2017 and a UPC of 0-72036-71232-5

According to the FDA, B&M was notified by one of its suppliers that one lot of Cumin Ground Conventional and some of the seasonings containing this lot had potentially been contaminated with peanut protein. It is the Cumin ingredient that is the source of the recall.

The products were shipped to retailers on December 1, 2014.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Seasoning Mixes and could be allergic to their peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
