US/Silver Spring: FDA Logo B&WTEN BC recalls some Tommy’s Superfoods Santa Fe Rice due to undeclared peanuts, a known allergen. FDA:

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Santa Fe Rice are subject to this recall:

  • Tommy’s Superfoods Santa Fe Rice, sold in 10-ounce, white plastic package marked with a best-by date of 11/17/2015 and a lot number of C091X4K17

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. Production of the product has been suspended until the FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.
