The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Beef Mince is subject to this recall:

  • Homebrand Beef Mince Regular, 500 gram package; sold in a plastic tray with clear plastic film marked with a best-before date of 29.09.14

According to the ACCC, the Beef Mince is being recalled because it may contain small fragments of blue-coloured food grade plastic. If these plastic fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause perforation or serious infection.
