US/Washington: Monogram Comfort Foods recalls approximately 607 pounds of Applegate Naturals Gluten-free Uncured Beef Corn Dogs due to possible temperature abuse and breakage of the cold chain, both serious health hazards. USDA:

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Corn Dogs are subject to this recall:

  • Applegate Naturals Gluten-free Uncured Beef Corn Dogs, 10 ounce package and sold in cartons of with a best-by date of 04/21/15

The products were produced on April 21, 2014, and bear the establishment number “EST. 2512” inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. The Corn Dogs were distributed in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

According to the USDA, the problem was found during a routine check by a warehouse that received the product. The Beef Corn Dogs had been stored at the warehouse in a dry storage area instead of in the freezer.
