The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Glass Kettles are subject to this recall:

  • Breville Glass Kettle, a domestic 1.6 litre glass kettle with charcoal coloured lid, handle and base with a product code of BKE260.

Please consult the photograph above for further details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the handles on the recalled Glass Kettles may loosen and/or detach from the body of the vessel increasing the risk of injury and scalding to the user and/or those nearby.

Traders who sold these Glass Kettles include the following: Betta Stores, Big W, Bing Lee, Breville Retail Outlets, David Jones, Domayne, Harvey Norman, Harris Scarf, Joyce Mayne, KMart, Good Guys and Myer.

Owners should cease using these Glass Kettles immediately and return them to a Breville service agent for a replacement kettle of similar value. Consumers should not dispose of the Kettle on their own.
