Australia/Canberra: Monarch Buzz Mobility Scooter Recall [Australia]Scooters Australia recalls some Monarch Buzz Mobility Scooter due to serious fall hazard. ACCC:

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Mobility Scooters are subject to this recall:

  • Monarch Buzz Mobility Scooters,three- and four-wheel portable mobility scooters with the following identifying features:
    • SA146-111223001 to SA146-111223050
    • SA116-120915001 to SA116-120915030
    • SA146-120915001 to SA146-120915050
    • SA116-130311001 to SA116-130311050
    • SA0841-130727001 to SA0841-130727040
    • SA0841-131216001 to SA0841-131216039

According to the ACCC, the Scooter’s rear and front sections may separate if the Scooter is driven over a gutter kerb, an obstacle greater than the Scooter’s clearance, or dropped from a height. The Scooter will immediately stop and may tip over, posing a serious fall hazard to the rider.
