The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves Metabo W14-150 Ergo series 6-inch medium Angle Grinders.

The recalled Angle Grinders have a green body, a black and red handle and a silver head as well as a wheel guard. The Grinders measure about 16 inches long by 4 inches wide by 5 inches deep, have a 6-inch wheel capacity and weigh about eight pounds. The brand, “Metabo” is printed on the handle and the phrase, “Metabo 14-150 Ergo” is printed on the side of the Grinders. The Angle Grinders are used for grinding and cutting metal. Model numbers include 06251421 and 06251441 and the affected serial numbers range from 3010000001 through 4020031488 for both models. The model and serial numbers are located on the rating plate on the right side of the power tool.

According to the CPSC, the unit’s “On/Off” switch can stick in the “On” position, posing a laceration hazard. Metabo has received two reports of the Angle Grinder switches sticking in the “On” position. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the Angle Grinders and contact Metabo to receive a free repair or replacement.
