The UK Trading Standards Institute (“TSI”) reports the following Fish Cakes are subject to this recall:

  • Young’s Chip Shop Extra Large Fish Cakes, 2-Pack, 210 gram package; barcode (EAN): 5000205035321; production “Julian” code: L4160; best before date: dec 2015

According to the TSI, some packages of its frozen Young’s Chip Shop Extra Large Fish Cakes 2 Pack have been manufactured from a batch where some Foodstuffs were found to have been contaminated with small pieces of hard plastic.

Only Fish Cakes with the production code of “L4160” are currently suspected of having been contaminated. The code may be found under the best-before date on the side of the pack.

Packs with this production code were sold at ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco. Customers are advised not to consume the product but instead return the packages to their point of purchase for a refund.
