The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Pork Nuggets are subject to this recall:

  • 10-pound cases of Battered, Deep Fried Pork Nuggets with packaging date codes between JAN 25, 2014 and JUN, 25 2014

According to the USDA, the Raw Pork Nuggets subject to this recall bear the establishment mark of “EST. 20783” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the labels. The recalled Raw Pork Nuggets were produced on various dates from January 25, 2014 through June 25, 2014. All of the Pork Nuggets were distributed for use in hotels, restaurants and institutions in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is thought none of the recalled Pork Nuggets entered the retail food channel.

The problem was discovered by FSIS inspection personnel during a food safety assessment. After investigation, it was determined that the flour used in the products contained wheat. The mislabeling in the Raw Pork Nuggets occurred due to a change in flour suppliers.
