Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following clothing products are subject to this recall:

  • Babysoy Footies (style number 200) and O Soy Footies (style number 500) in sizes 6 to 12 months. The Babysoy Footies (pictured above) are solid colour with contrasting trim (chocolate/green, blue/brown, purple/brown, pink/purple and pink/brown) while the O Soy Footies are white with various colour trim and have different images printed on the front.

According to Health Canada, its sampling and evaluation program has determined that these products do not meet the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear under Canadian law.

Loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child’s body. For this reason, cotton is not permitted in loose-fitting sleepwear.
