The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Women’s Jeans are subject to this recall:

  • Jeanswest Bel Skinny 7/8 Jeans, sizes 6 to 16
  • Jeanswest Bel Curve Embracer Skinny 7/8 Jeans, sizes 8 to 20

According to the ACCC, the dye used during the manufacture of the pocket lining of these Jeans may have contained hazardous azo-colourants. Expert authorities classify these azo-colourants as carcinogens and recommend that exposure be minimised. While this dye is not banned for textiles use in Australia, Jeanswest is recalling these two styles of Jeans as a precaution.
