The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Jeans are subject to this recall:

  • Kid’s and Infant’s clothing: Denim Wrinkle Pants, Boys Walk Shorts, Babywear Relaxed Denim Jeans
  • Ladies wear clothing: Moda Dark Wash Basic Jean, Dark Indigo Bootleg Jean
  • Clothing identification numbers as follows:
    • Kid’s Denim Wrinkle Pants, keycodes: 55273671, 55273688, 55273695, 55273701, 55273718, 55273725, 55273732
    • Boy’s Walk Shorts, keycodes: 54813939, 54813946, 54813953, 54813960, 54813977, 54813984, 54813991
    • Babywear Relaxed Denim Jeans, keycodes: 54824645, 54824652, 54824669, 54824676
    • Ladies Moda Dark Wash Basic Jeans, keycodes: 54936362, 54936379, 54936386, 54936393, 54936409, 54936416
    • Ladies Dark Indigo Bootleg Jeans, keycodes 54932210, 54932227, 54932234, 54932241, 54932258, 54932265, 54932272, 54933675, 54933682, 54933699, 54933705, 54933712, 54933729, 54933736, 54933842, 54933859, 54933866, 54933873, 54933880, 54933897, 54933903

According to the ACCC, the dye used during the manufacture of the pocket lining of these Jeans may have contained hazardous azo-colourants. Expert authorities classify these azo-colourants as carcinogens and recommend that exposure be minimised. While this dye is not banned for textiles use in Australia, Myer is recalling these two styles of Jeans as a precaution.
