The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chili Powder is subject to this recall:

  • Dragonfly brand Crushed Chili Powder sold in 6.3-ounce clear plastic tubs with a product code of 359XP affixed to the bottom of container. A UPC/bar code of “7 21557 53317 8” is printed on the front of the tub and the container is marked as being, “a Product of Thailand”.

According to the FDA, its routine sampling uncovered the Salmonella contamination in the lot indicated by product code “359XP”. Production and distribution of the Crushed Chili Powder has been suspended while the US FDA, California Department of Public Health and US Trading Company continue the investigation. Consumers who have purchased this product are urged to stop using it and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
