The UK Trading Standards Institute (“TSI”) reports the following Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Detectors are subject to this safety notice:

  • Nest Protect: Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Detectors

According to the TSI, during recent testing, it was found the Nest Wave component of this product could be unintentionally activated, delaying the alarm going off in the event of an actual fire. The problem was identified by Nest, and the company is not aware of any consumers having experienced it first-hand themselves. As a precaution, however, sales of new Nest Protect alarms are suspended pending an update, which the company will subsequently post.
