The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Spices are subject to this recall:

  • Chile Molido Puro, sold in 4-ounce clear bags and distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. The product was distributed by King Soopers, Safeway, City Market and various independent grocers with an expiration date of 01 2017 and a UPC code of 77601-10011.
  • Chile Rojo, sold in 6-ounce clear plastic bags with an expiration 02 2017 and a UPC code of 77601-10053.

According to the FDA, routine testing by an independent lab revealed the presence of Salmonella in some of the 4-ounce Chile Molido Puro and 6-ounce Chile Rojo products.
