The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Pool Noodles are subject to this recall:

  • Pool Crane Pool Noodles with connector, sold with a PLU item code: 43814 and an EAN/barcode designation of 26178448

According to the ACCC, the product does not comply with Australia’s labeling requirements of Consumer Protection Notice No. 2 of 2009 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Flotation Toys and Aquatic Toys because it is not marked with the required warnings.

This regulation requires aquatic toys, such as pool noodles, to be permanently marked with the following warning in a contrasting colour: WARNING – AQUATIC TOY- USE ONLY UNDER SUPERVISION. If parents or other carers do not properly supervise children whilst they are using the product, there is an increased risk that child drowning may occur.
