Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves Chargers that were sold with the HP Chromebook 11, a small laptop computer. The recalled Chargers are black in color with electrical outlet pins, measures 1-3/4 inches by 3/4 inches and have six (6)-foot long cord with a micro-USB connector at one end. The model number of the Charger is MU15-N1052-A00S, a code that is stamped on the facing of the Battery Charger that has the outlet pins.

According to the CPSC, the computer’s Charger can overheat and melt, posing fire and burn hazards. Google has received nine (9) reports of Chargers overheating and melting during use. There is one (1) report of a small burn to a consumer and one (1) report of minor property damage to a pillow from an overheating Charger. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Charger for the HP Chromebook 11 and contact Google for a free replacement.

The CPSC reports the HP Chromebook 11 was sold at Best Buy stores throughout the US and online at Amazon.com, bestbuy.com, Google Play at play.google.com, as well as HP Shopping at shopping.hp.com from October 2013 through November 2013.
