US/Washington: Siberoni expands an existing recall for an undetermined amount of raw and frozen Meat and Poultry “Pelmeni” (Eastern European-style Ravioli Products) due to failure to inspect the food upon entry into the United States, a serious health and safety hazard. USDA: http://ht.ly/phHln
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports following Meat and Poultry Products are subject to this recall:
- One (1) pound packages, in 40 pound cases, of “Siberoni” brand Chicken Pelmeni
- One (1) pound packages, in 40 pound cases, of “Siberoni” brand Beef Pelmeni
- One (1) pound packages, in 40 pound cases, of “Siberoni” brand Beef and Pork Pelmeni
- One (1) pound packages, in 40 pound cases, of “Siberoni” brand Pork Pelmeni
According to the USDA, all these products bear the establishment number “33788” or “P-33788” inside a USDA mark of inspection or elsewhere on the package. The products were produced prior to September 6, 2013 and were sold directly from the firm’s storefront and, via a distributor, to retail outlets in Oregon and Washington State.
