The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports following the Drugs are subject to this recall:

  • Estarylla Contraceptive Pills; lot number: LF01213A; expiration date: 02/2014; NDC 00781-4058-15. The drug is supplied in cartons containing 3 blister cards of 28 tablets each. This particular lot was distributed to the US market.

According to the FDA, a customer reported a placebo tablet (i.e., a non-therapeutic or “dummy” pill) was found in a row of active tablets on one pack. Estarylla is prescribed for the prevention of pregnancy; it is possible that a placebo tablet in the pack could allow a pregnancy to occur.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following products are subject to this recall:

  • Hockey Hot Locker, also sold as the Allsport Hot Locker, model number ASHL-10-01

According to to Health Canada, the Hockey Hot Locker is designed to dry sports equipment after use. The plastic fan blade in the recalled Lockers can separate from the fan motor shaft and come into contact with the heating element. This poses a fire hazard. The company has received reports of two incidents involving minor property damage with the Hockey Hot Locker product. No injuries were reported.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves the eight (8) piece and 24 piece Serve-Rite Buffet Sets. The chafing fuels that come with the buffet sets are used to generate instant clean fire for cooking in various environments.

The 8 piece Buffet Set has a UPC of “094922637260” while the 24 piece Buffet Set has a UPC of “094922637635”. Both of the recalled Buffet Sets come with small metal containers of Blaze Jelled Chafing Fuel which contains methyl alcohol. The Blaze Jelled Chafing Fuel has the UPC 794666721002.

Health Canada says the recalled Buffet Sets do not meet the labeling requirements for Consumer Chemical Products under Canadian Law. The lack of labeling information, including appropriate warnings, may lead to serious injury or property damage.

About Listeria Poisoning:
The bacteria that cause Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) most often produce a gastrointestinal illness that can be quite serious or even fatal. In other cases, people can develop Septicemia (a serious blood infection) or Meningitis (an inflammation of the covering of the brain and spinal cord, known collectively as the meninges).

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the recalled Wild and Silly Plush Toys, specifically the 10 cm high Plush Elephant, Plush Lion and Plush Monkey Toy characters, may liberate small parts during use because they do not comply with the mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age (Australian Standard AS/NZS ISO 8124.1:2003, as amended by the regulation).

According to the ACCC, small parts may present a choking hazard to infants. The Barcode number for all three Plush Toys is the same at “9321262001026” .
