Transport Canada (“TC”) reports the following vehicles are affected by this recall:

  • Honda S2000 Vehicles; model years: 2006, 2007
  • Acura RSX Vehicles; model year: 2006

According to Transport Canada, the Brake Booster on certain Honda and Acura vehicles may have been manufactured incorrectly and could develop a leak. As such, the Booster may be unable to maintain vacuum when the brake pedal is depressed. Loss of brake power assist could occur, which in turn, may result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.

About Salmonella Poisoning in Animals:
Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning) is a very common type of food poisoning caused by the Salmonella bacterium. According to the US Food and Drug Administration, animals with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Some animals will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.

It is important to note that infected but otherwise healthy looking animals can be Salmonellosis carriers and infect other animals or humans through various routes including oral-manual, oral-oral and oral-fecal. Always wash your hands thoroughly after feeding, petting or performing other activities with animals, especially those relating to waste elimination and disposal of fecal matter.

About Listeria Poisoning:
The bacteria that cause Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) most often produce a gastrointestinal illness that can be quite serious or even fatal. Listeriosis in pregnancy, for example, may cause a miscarriage or fetal death. In other cases, people can develop Septicemia (a serious blood infection) or Meningitis (an inflammation of the covering of the brain and spinal cord, known collectively as the meninges).

If you suspect your food is contaminated, do not eat it. Contact the retailer for a refund or replacement. Wash your hands, contaminated preparation surfaces, cutlery and serving dishes thoroughly with hot soapy water and dry. Contact your MD immediately if you experience Listeriosis symptoms.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports a fatigue crack could develop inside the Vehicle’s Brake Booster Pump Assembly (Accumulator). If cracks do occur in the Accumulator, nitrogen gas could leak into the brake fluid and cause the brake pedal stroke to become longer or the pedal to become spongy, increasing the stopping distance and the risk of a crash.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports this recall pertains to a “Water Bomb” Sling Shot Toy, a “Y”-shaped sling shot toy with water bomb balloons.

According to the ACCC, the recalled “Water Bomb” Sling Shot Toys do not comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard (AS/NZS ISO 8124.1, as amended by the regulation for Projectile Toys), as the product is not marked with the required warnings for projectile toys. Because of this, Arrow projectiles may be used improperly and may increase the risk of eye or facial injuries to users or those nearby.
