The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the recalled Sky Lanterns may cause fires if the open flame contacts combustible material. Further, the product contravenes the permanent ban on sky lanterns, Consumer Protection Notice No. 17 of 2011.
According to the ACCC, Sky Lanterns may cause fires if the open flame contacts combustible material, posing a risk of death or serious injury to the general public, particularly in bushfire-prone areas.
