Pomeberry Blend Berry Recall

Canada/Ottawa: Overwaitea Food recalls some Western Family Pomeberry Blend Berries due to Hepatitis A hazard. CFIA: http://ht.ly/afzT5

Why is this important?
Eating or drinking foods or liquids contaminated with the Hepatitis A virus (HAV) may cause chronic liver infection and/or chronic liver disease. By definition, Hepatitis causes inflammation of the liver; symptoms may include fever, low appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches and yellowing in the whites of the eyes and the skin (jaundice). The illness is usually mild and starts about two to six weeks after the contaminated food is eaten. It generally goes away by itself in a week or two, although it can last up to 6 months in some people, especially those with weakened immune systems due to an underlying medical condition or some drugs.

Consult a medical professional if at risk.
