The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Brain Products are subject to this recall:

• 15-unit cases containing Beef Brains labeled “American Foods Group Beef Brains <30” and bearing a packaging code of 06400.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 410” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The recalled Beef Brains were produced on various dates between April 24, 2016, and August, 11, 2016. and shipped to a distributor in California for further sales into the food channel.

According to the USDA, Specified Risk Materials (“SRM”) are not allowed in the human food chain due to direct risk of certain prion-based diseases. These diseases are suspected as being the primary agent behind diseases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (“CJD”) a rare, degenerative, invariably fatal brain disorder and others.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Beef Brains, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
