Frozen King Surimi Chunk Recall Expands [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Zian Trading Company Ltd. expands its existing recall to include additional batches of Frozen King brand Surimi Chunks due to undeclared egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Seafood Products are subject to this recall:

• Frozen King brand Surimi Chunks, 908 gram package; product codes: all codes where egg is not declared on the label; UPC: 8 13103 00905 0
• Frozen King Surimi Sticks, 908 gram package; product codes: all codes where egg is not declared on the label; UPC:  8 13103 00903 6
• Frozen King Surimi Sticks, 250  gram package; product codes: all codes where egg is not declared on the label; UPC: 8 13103 00902 9

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CFIA, Zian Trading Company Limited has additional batches of Frozen King brand Surimi Chunks from the marketplace because they may contain egg, an ingredient not declared on the food product label. People with an allergy to egg should not consume the recalled product listed above. Originally just one of the above foods had been recalled
